Share

Psychiatrist William Glasser, a proponent of the importance of developing positive personal relationships, will present a workshop titled “A New Look at School Failure and School Success” at Cal State Northridge Saturday.

Based on his new book “Choice Theory: Redefining Your Personal Freedom,” Glasser will discuss his view that teachers should change the way they see themselves and their students to improve the classroom environment.

“Dr. Glasser will be doing role play to demonstrate the assets of what a child has to offer to the classroom and help the child make better choices,” said Estee Diamond, program coordinator of CSUN’s Centers in Educational Psychology.

“It’s creating an atmosphere that emphasizes what the child is doing right and how they can become successful,” Diamond said.

Saturday’s workshop will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Room 101 of the Business Education Auditorium at CSUN, 18111 Nordhoff St. The cost is $50 for students and $55 for nonstudents, with discounts available for group registration of five or more.
