Charles A. Redd; Trucking Firm Owner

Charles A. Redd of Ventura, a construction and trucking company owner, died Saturday at an Oxnard care center. He was 77.

Redd was born Jan. 28, 1920, in Hazel Green, Wis., and was a 41-year Ventura County resident.

He served in both the Army and Air Force, and served in World War II and the Korean War. Redd earned the rank of master sergeant in the Army.

Redd is survived by his wife of 40 years, Jean; son Timothy of Montrose, Colo.; daughter Pam Cox of Boulder City, Nev.; five grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

A memorial funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, Ventura. A private burial will be at Ventura’s Ivy Lawn Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, Mass offerings will be accepted or memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Assn.

Arrangements are under the direction of Joseph P. Reardon Funeral Home, Ventura.
