Trauma Program Seeks Volunteers

Share

The Orange County chapter of the Trauma Intervention Program is seeking volunteers for its crisis intervention program.

Volunteers will be trained to help those in distress because they are victims of a crime or other traumatic event. Volunteers are called to the scene by a sheriff’s deputies, firefighters or hospital personnel.

“The first few hours after a crisis situation has occurred are very confusing for everyone involved,” said Wayne Fortin, program founder. “The TIP volunteer provides the necessary temporary support until the persons involved in the crisis are able to depend on family, friends or others.”
