Replay on TV Is Better Than Nothing

Share

The USC-Oregon State game won’t be available on live TV even via satellite Saturday, but Fox Sports West 2 has added a special 10:30 p.m. Saturday replay of the game--the first USC game not televised live since 1988.

The replay will also be shown at 5 p.m. Sunday on Fox Sports West 2 as previously scheduled.

Also, the kickoff time for the USC-UCLA game Nov. 22 at the Coliseum won’t be determined until next week because ABC has exercised a contractual right to wait until after this week’s games to decide whether to broadcast the game.

If ABC chooses to broadcast USC-UCLA and/or Washington-Washington State, the USC-UCLA game will be at 12:30 p.m. If ABC passes, kickoff will be at 3:30 p.m., and the game will be broadcast by Fox Sports West 2.

Backup cornerback Ken Haslip has been ruled out of Saturday’s game because of a hamstring injury, in addition to quarterback Mike Van Raaphorst (ankle). USC is listing tailbacks LaVale Woods (ankle) and Malaefou MacKenzie (shoulder) as questionable. . . . Three USC players--cornerback Brian Kelly, tackle Phalen Pounds and punter Jim Wren--are scheduled to play in the 1998 Hula Bowl on Jan. 18.
