Study Seeks Opinions on Traffic Concerns

Share

In an effort to increase safety and decrease congestion, the Sherman Oaks Homeowners Assn. next month is expected to conclude a study of the area’s traffic.

Residents and business owners have been asked to complete a survey for the study, which began in June. The survey asks such questions as, “What improvements do you think could be made that would decrease the number of accidents?” It also asks survey participants to cite streets and intersections that need improvement.

The findings of the study, which is being conducted in cooperation with representatives from the LAPD, will be sent to Councilman Mike Feuer’s office. The association hopes that Feuer will act on any suggestions they make for improvements.

“Hopefully, this will have a real impact on solving the traffic problems of Sherman Oaks,” said Andrew Zucker, a member of the association’s traffic safety committee.

So far, Zucker said, more than 50 residents and business owners have responded to the survey, which was mailed to the association’s 70 members.

“People are sending us a lot of suggestions and ideas,” said Zucker.

Anyone interested in completing the survey may contact Zucker at his office at (310) 275-9999.
