Airport Proposal Would Boost Noise, Council Says
The City Council has gone on record opposing a Los Angeles International Airport expansion plan, saying it would add more noise above residential neighborhoods.
The council voted 4 to 0 to oppose the airport master plan and passed a resolution calling the expansion “an unrealistic attempt to accommodate all of the Los Angeles area’s air traffic needs into one of the nation’s smallest metropolitan airports.”
