The California African-American Museum’s free family art workshop “Moveable Art” will let participants use a variety of materials to create sculpted mobiles. The workshop is held in conjunction with the museum’s current exhibition about the historic traditions of ceramics titled “Caressed by the Earth, Contoured by Hand: California’s African American Ceramists,” which continues through Jan. 4.

11:30am: Parade

The long-running spoof of the Tournament of Roses Parade, the offbeat and oft-irreverent Pasadena Doo Dah Parade, steps through the streets of Old Pasadena. A group called Juliarana and the Ladies in Waiting and a mother and daughter dressed as Siamese twins accompanied by two men dressed in baby blue plastic wraps and platinum blond wigs have been chosen as queens of this year’s parade.

1 pm: Parade

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas, at least in Huntington Park. The 47th Annual Fabulous Holiday-Christmas Lane Parade, the Southland’s first holiday parade, will feature celebrity appearances by Mikey and Minnie Mouse, Woody Woodpecker, Olympic boxing champion Paul Gonzales, the Laker cheerleaders, floats, marching bands, equestrian and specialty units, hot air balloons, clowns and Santa, of course.

* The Fabulous Holiday-Christmas Lane Parade will travel from Pacific Boulevard at Randolph Avenue south on Pacific to Florence Avenue and west on Florence to Rugby Avenue in Huntington Park. Free. (213) 582-0909.

The All Time Watch and Clock Show will feature more than 100 dealers with antique pocket and wrist watches from Rolex, Patek Phillippe, Omega, Movado, Elgin and more as well as collectible character timepieces such as Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Betty Boop, Hopalong Cassidy and Gene Autry, antique clocks and free appraisals.

5 pm: Jazz

In addition to playing with countless jazz greats, pianist Gerald Wiggins has coached Marilyn Monroe and Cybill Shepherd in their vocal pursuits. Now Wiggins will lend his hand to the Help the Homeless Help Themselves foundation when he headlines the group’s 10th annual Jazz for Love benefit. Singers Sonny Craver and Barbara Morrison will join the party, as will saxophonist Rickey Woodard, bassist Richard Simon and drummer Greg Field.

4 pm: Cabaret

Self-described as “five babes go for baroque,” the musical performers called Bimbetta (“War of Love”) will present their unique blend of baroque music on period instruments and in-your-face humor and theatrics at UCLA’s Schoenberg Hall. The performance will be preceded by a CenterStage lecture led by Bimbetta soprano Sonja Rasmussen.
