Home-Repair Group Seeks Applicants, Aid
Christmas in April Serving Orange County, a volunteer housing repair group focusing on the needs of elderly, disabled and low-income homeowners, is kicking off planning for its annual Rebuilding Day.
“We are now soliciting applications from qualified homeowners from our 1998 Rebuilding Day target cities of Santa Ana and Orange/El Modena,” said Cy Baumann, president of the group.
The organization also seeks donations of funding and building materials. About 900 volunteers are needed to work on 20 to 25 sites on Rebuilding Day, planned for April 25.
In its eighth year, the organization has repaired and rehabilitated more than 100 homes and nonprofit agency sites. The work is provided free to recipients.
