Saints Trade Receiver Hobbs
The New Orleans Saints traded wide receiver Daryl Hobbs, who had two disagreements with assistant coach Danny Abramowicz, to the Seattle Seahawks for an undisclosed 1998 draft choice.
Abramowicz erupted after Hobbs refused to finish a conditioning run Sept. 22.
On Aug. 1, Abramowicz threw Hobbs off the practice field a day before the Saints’ first exhibition game.

Carolina Panther Coach Dom Capers is considering benching quarterback Kerry Collins, who has nine turnovers in two games.
“We’ll continue to take a look at what we think the best solutions are for our team at this point in time,” said Capers, who replaced Collins with Steve Beuerlein in Monday’s 34-21 loss to San Francisco after Collins threw three interceptions and lost a fumble.
Capers said any decision on a change probably would come before the Panthers return to practice next week for their Oct. 12 game at Minnesota.
