Rashaan Shehee ran for 146 yards and a touchdown and Brock Huard passed for two touchdowns to lead No. 10 Washington to a 26-14 victory over No. 25 Arizona State in their Pac-10 opener Saturday.

The defending champion Sun Devils (3-2, 1-1) had an 11-game Pac-10 winning streak broken. Arizona State beat Washington in the season opener in Tempe last year and went to the Rose Bowl with a perfect conference record, while the Huskies were second with one defeat.

Shehee, who beat Arizona State with a 30-yard halfback pass with 2:53 left in a game here two years ago, was a workhorse with 29 carries. He also caught three passes for 70 yards. He scored on a one-yard run at the end of the first half.

Huard, coming back from a sprained ankle in a loss to Nebraska two weeks ago, completed eight of 19 passes for 150 yards, including a 17-yard touchdown to Jerome Pathon in the opening quarter and a 10-yard touchdown to Mike Reed in the fourth period. He did throw his first interception of the season, getting picked off by Larry Johnson in the second quarter.

On a stormy day before 74,986 fans at Husky Stadium, the Huskies (3-1, 1-0) sacked redshirt freshman quarterback Ryan Kealy nine times, including two each by Jason Chorak, Jerry Jensen and Chris Campbell. Kealy completed 2-of-7 passes for 28 yards with one interception. Arizona State was limited to 51 rushing yards.

In the most critical part of the game, Washington scored two touchdowns in a 30-second span at the end of the second quarter to take a 19-7 halftime lead.

After Robert Nycz missed a 46-yard field goal, his third miss of the first half, the Huskies drove 71 yards on seven carries from Maurice Shaw to go ahead 13-7 with 1:25 left in the first half. Shaw ran it in from 28 yards out. Nine seconds later, Nigel Burton intercepted a pass that bounced off J.R. Redmond to give the Huskies the ball on the Sun Devils 31. With 55 seconds to go, Shehee got into the end zone.
