Bishop Diego 13, Nordhoff 9--The Rangers (3-2) owned a 9-0 lead at halftime, but Bishop Diego (2-3) rallied for 13 points in the second half at Santa Barbara City College.
Nordhoff opened the scoring in the first quarter with a 14-play, 74-yard drive capped by Isi Guzman’s one-yard touchdown run.
The Rangers moved ahead, 9-0, 10 seconds before intermission on Matt Brown’s 37-yard field goal.
Bishop Diego claimed the lead on quarterback Joe Stupar’s two-yard scoring run following an interception.
The Rangers had one last chance when Kevin Zeilsdorf returned a punt 51 yards to the Cardinals’ 29-yard line with 2:20 left. But Nordhoff failed had to turn the ball over on downs four plays later.
