“I’m so damn mad, I can’t see straight,” said Atlanta third baseman Chipper Jones, not at all chipper about the balls being called strikes.
Of the 15 strikeouts by Livan Hernandez, twice Jones was the victim. Unhappy with plate umpire Eric Gregg’s generous outside corner, Jones said: “Some people wait their whole lives to get to this stage, and when you’re not allowed to do your job, it’s frustrating.”
Gregg’s response: “My strike zone has been like this for 25 years, guys.”
