Uncooperative Hirsch Suspended

The Vancouver Canucks suspended Corey Hirsch on Tuesday after the 25-year-old goalie refused to report to the Syracuse Crunch of the American Hockey League.
Hirsch, 12-20-4 with a 3.27 goals-against average last season, was left unprotected in the NHL waiver draft last month. Vancouver has used Kirk McLean in all five games this season, with newcomer Arturs Irbe in reserve.
