Alzheimer’s Benefit Walk Raised More Than $200,000
More than $200,000 was raised during last weekend’s Alzheimer’s Assn. of Orange County Memory Walk in Irvine.
About 3,000 participated in the event, which included a donation from House Speaker Newt Gingrich (R-Ga.) on behalf of the Republican Central Committee of Orange County’s “Dutch Reagan” walking team. The team was formed to honor former President Ronald Reagan, who suffers from Alzheimer’s disease.
Proceeds will help the Orange County chapter fund research and local support groups for families.
