Ice Dogs Lose It Late Again, 3-2
For the second time in two nights Wednesday, the Long Beach Ice Dogs gave up a late third-period goal that proved to be the difference, losing to the Kansas City Blades, 3-2.
The Ice Dogs (4-4-1), who never led, battled back on goals by Dan Bylsma to tie it, 1-1, in the second and Darryl Williams to tie it, 2-2, at 6 minutes 36 seconds of the third period.
But Pat Ferschweiler’s shot from 10 feet inside the blue line won it for the Blades (3-2-0).
Long Beach, which had the top-rated power play in the league last season, could not convert on six chances.
