SCC Women Defeat Hawaii Pacific

Shelley Bage recorded her first collegiate hat trick by scoring the game winner for Southern California College in a 5-4, double-overtime victory at home against Hawaii Pacific in women’s soccer Wednesday.

Bage knocked in the winning goal at the 110th minute off assists from Jamie Gardiner and Elisabeth McCary. The victory moved SCC to 11-4, tying a 1995 school record for the most victories in a season.

Megan Conner added two goals for SCC and McCrary finished with three assists. Hawaii Pacific (5-6) scored three consecutive goals in the second half to send the game into overtime.

In another nonconference game:

San Diego 4, CS Fullerton 3 (OT)--Michelle Kallas kicked in a rebound off goalkeeper Marla Nelson 24 minutes into overtime to give the Toreras the victory.

San Diego (4-9-1) rallied from a 2-0 halftime deficit in the final 13 minutes of regulation, forcing sudden death overtime. Christina Stewart recorded a hat trick for the Titans (5-9), scoring all three goals on headers off corner kicks from Kassie Rypel.

In nonconference women’s volleyball:

Chapman 3, Cal Lutheran 0--Erika Rinset had 10 kills in 19 attempts for Chapman (11-5), which won, 15-11, 15-4, 15-5. Monica Girard had 13 kills and eight digs.
