Season Bounces Back With ‘Midnight Madness’ Drills
A look at the region’s college basketball teams heading into the start of official practices:
Long Beach State begins practicing at the Long Beach Pyramid on Saturday at 1 p.m. with only two returning players.
Coach Wayne Morgan will try to rebound from a 13-14 first season. But improving on that may be difficult.
Long Beach added 12 new players from a year ago, though not many first-choice recruits. Two players came from solid Division I programs.
Sophomores Antrone Lee from Florida and Ramel Lloyd of Syracuse get fresh starts at Long Beach after sitting out a year.
Quincy Nuckles and D’Cean Bryant are the only two returning players.
