Dallas Cowboy fullback Daryl Johnston, who has never missed a game in his nine-year NFL career, will undergo surgery to repair a bulging disk in his neck and sit out the rest of the season, according to a broadcast report.

CNN-SI reported Thursday night that Johnston is being advised by doctors to not play again and he would be risking paralysis if he plays after the surgery.

Cowboy owner Jerry Jones told CNN-SI that nothing was definitive.

“All those types of things, surgery, retirement are premature at this point,” he said. “In the morning, they may not be true.”

The Super Bowl champions’ proposed stock sale violates the spirit of community ownership that makes the Packers unique in the NFL, Rep. Marlin Schneider said.

The suggested cost of $200 a share puts working families out of the market, said Schneider, a Wisconsin Rapids Democrat.
