Purposeful: Freshman Aaron Lewis of Moorpark College was selected Western State Conference all-purpose player of the week after amassing 242 total yards in a 38-17 victory Saturday over Ventura.

Lewis caught two passes for 54 yards and a touchdown. He returned four punts for 131 yards and a touchdown and returned two kickoffs for 57 yards.

Quarterbacks Tom Racius of Valley and Dan McMullen of Pierce, who combined for more than 800 passing yards in Valley’s 44-21 victory Saturday, shared the player-of-the-week award.

Racius passed for 425 yards and five touchdowns. McMullen passed for 380 yards and two touchdowns.

Moorpark defensive back Bubba Jackson was selected WSC defensive player of the week. He had seven tackles and intercepted a pass against Ventura.

GOLF

Brotherhood: Brothers Jon and Justin Ohye of Calabasas and others from the region were honored at a banquet for their performances during the SCPGA junior season.

Jon, a Calabasas high senior, finished fourth in the boys’ 16-17 year-old division with 380 points, 75 points behind division winner Travis Johnson of Bellflower.

Justin, a sophomore at Calabasas, finished second among 14-15 year olds with 713.3 points. Nicholas Bollini of Yorba Linda won the division with 851 points.

Krystal Shearer, of Northridge and Alemany High, was fifth in the girls’ 15-17 division and Julie Park, of Granada Hills High, finished sixth. Adrianna Han of Glendale and Saki Uechi of Panorama City, 1997 City Section girls’ champion, tied for ninth. Anna Lee of Hacienda Heights won the division.

Anthony Kim of Studio City was fourth in the boys’ 12-13 year-old division and Kyle Thurston of Moorpark finished fifth in the 11-and-under division.

Grace Woo of Burbank was eighth in the girls’ 11-and-under division.
