Boy Doused With Alcohol, Set on Fire; 2 Teenagers Held
A 10-year-old boy was doused with rubbing alcohol and set afire Monday while playing with a group of youths in a backyard in Leimert Park, police said.
Two boys, ages 13 and 14, were arrested.
The victim, whose name was not released, suffered second-degree burns from his neck to his waist, police said.
The boy was in stable condition at a hospital.
A group of six boys, ranging in age from 9 to 14, were playing a game that involved pouring rubbing alcohol on the ground and setting it on fire with a candle.
Two boys then poured the liquid on the 10-year-old and set him on fire, authorities said. Police were investigating the motive for the burning.
None of the boys’ names were released.
