THINK OF THESE AS FOOTBALL LEFTOVERS

* The 105 yards passing by Miami’s Dan Marino was the fourth lowest of his career. The 16-10 victory over Indianapolis was only the 10th time in Marino’s career that the Dolphins have won a game in which he has not thrown a touchdown pass

* Buffalo running back Thurman Thomas caught six passes and became the third running back in history to catch 400 passes and rush for 10,000 yards. The others are Walter Payton and Marcus Allen.

* New England’s Dave Meggett set an NFL record with 305 career punt returns after getting six in the 41-7 victory over San Diego. Meggett’s 99 punt-return yards left him 17 short of Billy Johnson’s record of 3,317.

* Baltimore’s Vinny Testaverde made a rare NFL play. He caught his own pass that was batted in the air at the line of scrimmage. It was the quarterback’s fifth reception in 11 years.
