6 Firms Still in Running for Air-Conditioning Job
Los Angeles school officials said Friday that they had eliminated five of 11 bidders from the competition to install air conditioning in nearly 300 schools.
The firms selected to pursue the school bond project are CES/Way International, CH2M Hill/PG&E; Energy Services, New Energy Ventures, New West/Rogers Corporate Alliance, Syska & Hennessy/CEM and Tutor/Saliba/Overland Mechanical.
They will be allowed a minimum of 30 days to inspect the schools and refine proposals, said Beth Lourgand, general manager of the Los Angeles Unified School District’s facilities services division.
Also remaining in the competition is the Energy Alliance, a partnership of the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power and two other power companies.
