Panthers Re-Sign Center Niedermayer

Rob Niedermayer, a restricted free-agent center, re-signed with the Florida Panthers, agreeing to a three-year contract. . . . The Pittsburgh Penguins remain at least $3 million shy of the demands of forward Petr Nedved, who is threatening to play in the Czech Elite League. Nedved is seeking $18.5 million to $19 million over five years.
