Councilman Seeking to Revise Public Input

The public comment period at City Council meetings has become so long and mean-spirited, Councilman Gene Wisner said, that he will propose shortening and delaying it.
Wisner said he will propose cutting each speaker’s time from five minutes to three. He said he will also propose that the public comment period follow public hearings.
“We have people sitting in the audience and waiting, sometimes for hours, for hearings to start,” Wisner said.
He said he also wants speakers to stick to the issues and to quit attacking individual council members.
The council meets tonight at 6:30 at City Hall, 4845 Casa Loma Ave. Information: (714) 961-7100.
