As summer ends, the three bright stars...

As summer ends, the three bright stars that form the Summer Triangle are directly overhead at 9 p.m. Vega--the brightest star in the constellation Lyra and recently made famous by the movie “Contact”--is directly west of Deneb, the brightest star in Cygnus. altair, in Aquila, is to the south. The chart shows the sky from horizon to horizon with overhead (zenith) at the center. To use it, face south and hold it over your head. The Summer Triangel remains visible through November.
