Voter Registration Deadline Nearing

Officials in Agoura Hills and Westlake Village reminded residents this week that the deadline to register to vote in the Nov. 4 election is little more than two weeks away.

Residents have until Oct. 6 to register, or re-register if new to the area, with the Los Angeles County registrar-recorder’s office to be eligible to participate in the election.

Voters must be U.S. citizens, at least 18 years old by the day of the election, and California residents by the Oct. 6 deadline, officials said.

Mail-in voter registration forms may be obtained at most county offices, city halls, Las Virgenes libraries and most fire departments, or at the office of the county registrar-recorder, 12400 Imperial Highway, Norwalk, 90650.

Voters in Agoura Hills and Westlake Village will be asked to fill three seats each on their respective city councils this year.

Agoura Hills voters also will be asked to vote on a measure that would impose a utility users tax on commercial and industrial customers, and one that would impose a special parcel tax on residents to fund a new library.
