34 Restaurants to Display Their Good Taste to 60,000 This Weekend

More than 60,000 are expected to attend this year’s Taste of Newport, which begins today at Fashion Island.

The weekend event features food from 34 restaurants in the Newport Beach area, including Five Crowns, Bistango and Hogue Barmichaels. Wine from 16 California wineries also will be on sale.

The Newport Harbor Area Chamber of Commerce, which organizes the event, said it hopes this year’s entertainment, which features K.C. and the Sunshine Band, Billy Vera and the Beaters and Eddie Money, will help draw large crowds.

In addition to the food and music, the National Charity League Juniors will run games for children.

The Taste of Newport runs through Sunday night. Admission is $8. Books of 10 tickets to redeem for food cost $10.
