2 Illegal Immigrants Enter Guilty Pleas
Two deaf illegal immigrants pleaded guilty to a single charge of conspiring to smuggle other Mexicans into the United States to peddle trinkets on the street. U.S. Atty. Walter Holton said in Greensboro, N.C., that the other 15 charges were dismissed against Marcos Campos-Sanchez, 39, and his wife, Guadalupe Palencia-Moises, 42. Sentencing was scheduled for Jan. 6. The arrests were made after federal immigration officers raided a house in Sanford, about 35 miles southwest of Raleigh, N.C., in July, rounding up 13 adult Mexicans, two juveniles and a baby.
