Will Duck Experiment Blow Up in Their Bills?

Share

Hey, let’s check up on the Mighty Ducks’ “Chemistry Team” (Jack Ferreira, Tony Tavares) and see what they did this summer.

In May they let Ron Wilson go. It wasn’t a wins-and-losses thing, he was just a bad fit. He garnered too much attention by guiding the Ducks into the second round of the playoffs.

Then they hired Pierre Page to be coach. Had to spend a draft choice to get him. Although his team didn’t make the playoffs, Jack and Tony like him.

Trades made? No? Free agents signed? Tomas Sandstrom? Couldn’t make the fourth line of the Red Wings? Everyone knows they’re really deep, he must have good chemistry.

Paul Kariya signed? No? Didn’t the Ducks win only one of 13 games at the start of last season when Kariya was out?

If Kariya’s not available at the start of the season, I’d hate to see Page overuse Kariya and Selanne during the season-ending rush to make the playoffs. That was one of the reasons Wilson was fired.

Wasn’t it a great summer?
