Police Kill Machete-Wielding Man
Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies shot and killed a man Monday morning after he attacked them with a machete, authorities said.
Two deputies arrived at a house in the 700 block of West Avenue H-13 shortly before 11 a.m. after receiving a call from a woman who claimed she was being threatened by a man wielding a knife, Sheriff’s Sgt. Darrell Brown said.
The man, whose identity was not released, attacked the deputies with the machete, but neither deputy was injured, according to Deputy Michael Irving. Both deputies fired at the man, hitting him several times. The man died at the scene, Irving said.
No further information was available.
