Morris Rejoins the Ravens

The Baltimore Ravens are averaging 28 points a game and riding the first three-game winning streak in franchise history. Now that they’ve got Bam Morris back, things seemingly can only get better for the most surprising team in the AFC.

Morris returned Monday from a four-week suspension for violating the NFL’s policy on substance abuse. The 25-year-old running back was humble about missing four games but confident that he would successfully rebound.

Morris, who led the Ravens in rushing last season, will not start Sunday in San Diego. Yet there’s little doubt that his presence will improve a running game that has thus far mustered only two touchdowns.

Signed as a free agent last year, Morris joined the team in October after serving a league-imposed suspension relating to the league’s substance abuse policy. He started the final seven games and ran for 618 yards, in addition to catching 25 passes and scoring five touchdowns.
