Bernard B. Heiler; Telecommunications Executive

Bernard B. Heiler, 52, telecommunications executive who aided Catholic assistance programs. At the time of his death, Heiler was vice president of marketing and sales and a director of Zero Corp., based in Los Angeles. Previously he served as vice president for sales and marketing of GTE West and president of its Thousand Oaks subsidiary, GTEL. Until General Telephone brought Heiler to Los Angeles in 1984, he was associated with IBM in the East and Midwest. Throughout his career, Heiler was active in Legatus, an organization of Catholic executives who aid various church programs. On Sunday of a heart attack while playing basketball in Westlake Village.
