Traveling Guitarist-Singer to Perform

Traveling troubadour Michael John Poirier will make his second visit to St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Ojai at 7 p.m. Sunday to present an evening of “Stories and Songs by Candlelight.”

Poirier, a guitarist and singer, has been traveling the country for years presenting concerts with spiritual themes, including the achievement of peace through prayer and forgiveness. The Arizona resident has composed more than 60 songs and recorded seven albums on the theme.

Although he began performing in public at 14, Poirier’s interest in the spiritual aspects of stories and songs became established when he was in his mid-20s. He put prayers to music in his debut album “Hello Lord.”
