Washington Redskin punter Matt Turk, doubtful most of the week because of a pulled thigh muscle, was cleared to play in today’s game against the Jacksonville Jaguars, the team announced.

Turk, who leads the NFC with a 46.2-yard average, suffered the injury during practice nine days ago and had not punted all week until testing the leg Saturday.

The Carolina Panthers fined linebacker Kevin Greene $292,626 during his training-camp holdout, but Greene, who subsequently was released and signed by the San Francisco 49ers, refuses to pay. The matter will be taken to arbitration. Meanwhile, Greene plays against his former team Monday night.
