Disability Office to Ease Doing Business
Several customer-service improvements scheduled to be implemented Wednesday by the State Disability Insurance office in Woodland Hills will make it easier for claimants to conduct business with the office, officials said.
“The SDI office will virtually eliminate the need for [claimants] to come into the office,” Jack Garlock, an SDI manager with the California Employment Development Department, said in a news release.
The goal of the State Disability Insurance service is to allow people to recover at home, he said.
The changes allow SDI recipients to conduct business by telephone and mail, and help claimants who need to make transactions in person by scheduling appointments for them.
The new procedures are expected to reduce time and travel.
The office also will provide a drop box for those who wish to hand-deliver documents to the office, which is at 21210 Erwin St. in Woodland Hills, officials said.
The Woodland Hills SDI office serves the Los Angeles and Ventura County areas. For more information, call (818) 596-4100.
