Urias Appointed to Harbor Commission
Al Urias, former longtime Santa Paula city councilman, has been appointed to the newly-expanded Ventura County Harbor Commission by Supervisor Kathy Long.
Urias fills a seat that became available when the board voted to double the number of commissioners this year to 10.
All new commissioners are expected to be named by Oct. 7.
Urias’ term expires in 2001.
Urias, 73, lost a bid for a sixth City Council term last year. He is a retired police officer and community college official.
