“Star Trek” fans will get a chance to see their favorite stars Sunday at 4 p.m. when four “Star Trek” captains--William Shatner, Patrick Stewart, Avery Brooks and Kate Mulgrew--take to the stage together at Star Trek Grand Slam VI at the Pasadena Center.

Pysanky are traditional Ukrainian Easter eggs, world-famous for their color and intricacy of design and workmanship. The Ukrainian Art Center’s Easter Open House will feature many of these eggs on display and for sale by the artists, as well as other arts and crafts, traditional Ukrainian foods and a hands-on table for children to make Easter crafts. Also on tap: the Zaporizhain Kozaks Ukrainian Dance Company will present a cabaret-type show with soloist Orysia Lubinsky-Pawluk.

6 pm: Jazz

Was it all that long ago that a big-cheeked trumpeter out of Indianapolis set the jazz world on its ear as he played with Max Roach, Sonny Rollins and Art Blakey and began recording albums on his own? Freddie Hubbard turns 60 this month, and in honor of the event, trombonist Phil Ranelin’s quartet, with special guest Billy Higgins, pianist Horace Tapscott’s quintet and the Voices of UGMAA with Dwight Trible will gather for Hub in the Hood, a benefit for a variety of Crenshaw-area arts causes. Hubbard is scheduled to join Ranelin’s and Tapscott’s combos in an all-too-rare guest appearance.

Narrating Arnold Schoenberg’s “A Survivor From Warsaw,” author-radio personality Dennis Prager joins the L.A. Jewish Symphony and conductor Noreen Green in a program also offering music by Lukas Foss, Franz Waxman and the late Herbert Zipper and featuring as soloists soprano Diana Tash and cellist Barry Gold.

The Los Angeles County Museum of Art’s “Japonism in Fashion: The Influence on Western Dress” focuses on the effect Japanese aesthetics and art have had on Western dress from the 17th through the 20th centuries, with more than 100 objects including garments by 21 designers, paintings, woodblock prints and the decorative arts that influenced them.
