Blake Admires Sabres’ Play in Front of Goalie

Share

Stephane Fiset kept the Kings close with 18 saves over the first two periods and finished with 24 in Wednesday’s 4-0 loss at Buffalo, but with Dominik Hasek in goal all the Sabres needed was to beat Fiset once.

“They know how to play a little better in front of [Hasek] than we do in front of [Fiset] right now,” defenseman Rob Blake said. “This is a team we can really look at because we want that same style. We can count on Fiset and we have confidence in him. We just have to play the system and be patient. . . . Frustrate teams to a point that they open up and then capitalize on your chances. That happened tonight. We got down and started taking a couple of chances and they took advantage. That’s similar to how we have to get playing.”
