McManus Pitches In as Golden West Wins
Amy McManus pitched a three-hitter to help Golden West to a 4-1 victory over visiting Riverside in an Orange Empire Conference softball game Tuesday.
Monica Monrow had two hits and drove in a run for the Rustlers, who scored four times in the first inning.
Golden West improves to 18-10, 9-6. The victory also doubles the win total the Rustlers had last season when they finished 9-26, 4-17 in conference.
Riverside drops to 10-17, 3-11.
In the Hancock Easter baseball tournament:
Cuesta 27, Cypress 6--Cypress fell to 16-15 and suffered its worst loss of the season.
The Chargers, the defending state champion, play Cerritos and Fresno in tournament games today.
