Selanne, Rucchin Questionable

Share

Captain Teemu Selanne and center Steve Rucchin, the Ducks’ top two scorers, did not practice for the second consecutive day on Sunday because of leg injuries. Their status for tonight’s game against Colorado is uncertain.

Selanne, who leads the NHL with 52 goals and is tied for fourth with 86 points, has a groin strain. Rucchin, who has 17 goals and 52 points, has a strained left knee.

“Rucchin told me he would like to play,” Coach Pierre Page said. “If Teemu doesn’t play it’s because he can’t play, that’s for sure.”

Selanne hopes to become only the fourth player in league history to score more than 25% of his team’s goals. He has 26.9% of the Ducks’ 193 goals this season.

Brett Hull (twice), Maurice Richard and Peter Bondra are the others who have scored more than 25% of their team’s goals.
