Boy in Serious Condition After Pool Accident
A 12-year-old boy was listed in critical condition Saturday evening after spending at least 10 minutes submerged in his family’s backyard swimming pool, fire officials said.
The Porter Ranch boy was fully clothed when he was pulled from the half-filled pool in the 11800 block of Thunderbird Avenue, said Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Bob Collis. “We don’t know what happened,” Collis said.
The accident was reported to authorities just before 3 p.m. Saturday.
The boy was taken to Granada Hills Community Hospital, where he remained throughout most of the afternoon. He was later transferred by his family to an undisclosed hospital.
