Woman Listed as Serious After Crash
A 60-year-old Piru woman remained in serious but stable condition Friday after she hurt her head and arm in an accident on California 126 at Fish Hatchery Road, just outside Fillmore.
Jennie Jimenez was traveling east about 10 p.m. Thursday when she veered to the right and tumbled down a 40-foot embankment in her 1982 Toyota Tercel, a California Highway Patrol spokesman said.
Ventura sheriff’s deputies airlifted Jimenez to Ventura County Medical Center, where she underwent surgery Friday morning.
The accident closed the freeway for 40 minutes.
