SANTA BARBARA--Celebrate summer fiesta-style at Old Spanish Days Wednesday through Sunday, Aug. 5-9. PETALUMA--The Victorian-era buildings of downtown will be blanketed with more than 600 quilts for the 4th Annual Great Petaluma Quilt Show next Saturday, Aug. 8. There also will be a quilter’s craft fair in Walnut Park. 10 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Free admission. (707) 778-8015.

SAN JOSE--One of the largest free jazz festivals in the U.S., the San Jose Jazz Festival, will offer more than 90 performers Aug. 7-9 at the downtown Plaza de Cesar Chavez. Shows begin at 5:15 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Aug. 7 on the main stage. The festival expands to 10 stages beginning at 10:45 a.m. Aug. 8 and 9.
