Cooper Continues to Lead the Comets
Cynthia Cooper scored 21 points as the defending champion Houston Comets defeated the Phoenix Mercury, 75-64, Thursday before a home crowd of 16,285.
Kim Perrot added 16 points for the Comets (23-2). Jennifer Gillom led the Mercury (13-10) with 19 points and Michelle Griffiths added 15.
Cleveland 79, Utah 69--Isabelle Fijalkowski scored 16 of her 22 points in the second half as the Rockers (15-9) rallied from a six-point deficit at halftime to defeat the Starzz (7-17) before a crowd of 5,761 at Salt Lake City.
