Father Arrested in Custody Dispute
A Thousand Oaks man arrested on suspicion of evading arrest and failing to return his children after a custody visit is free after posting bail.
Sheriff’s deputies went to the home of Dean Carlson, 35, Sunday night after he failed to return his children to his ex-wife, Ventura County sheriff’s officials said.
He was not there, but deputies found him in a motel Monday with his three children, authorities said. Carlson fled, leading deputies on a freeway chase before crashing his car. He ran away and eluded deputies.
On Thursday, Carlson turned himself in, was arrested, booked and bailed out an hour later.
