A long-running legal battle between a Huntington Harbour woman and her neighbors and city officials will go national this week.

The CBS News show “48 Hours,” which airs Thursday at 10 p.m., will feature a segment on the battle during an hourlong look at feuding neighbors called “Trouble Next Door.”

Elena Zagustin, 61, a college professor, has been charged with 95 misdemeanor city code violations for allegedly threatening the health and safety of her neighbors by letting trash accumulate and overloading extension cords.

City officials have inspected her home since November, and ordered her to vacate the property when they learned she lacked running water.

Zagustin contends officials searched her home illegally; her appeal on that matter is pending, along with her trial on the alleged unsanitary conditions.

If convicted, she could be fined $500 and jailed for six months on each of the counts.

CBS News will interview some of the 33 neighbors of her Morse Circle home who have been fighting her for years.
