Stanton Business Is Destroyed in Suspicious Blaze

Share

Early morning fires caused extensive damage Wednesday. In a Stanton blaze described as “highly suspicious in nature,” the Oak Mill Cabinet Co. in the 10000 block of Oak Avenue, burned to the ground about 5 a.m. The fire took 75 firefighters--three of whom sustained minor injuries--about 2 1/2 hours to extinguish, according to Scott Brown, a spokesman for the Orange County Fire Authority. Shortly afterward, another fire ignited at the El Torito Restaurant, 22699 Oak Crest in Yorba Linda. Brown said employees arriving for work smelled smoke in the kitchen, where the fire originated before spreading to the attic. That fire caused about $222,000 in damage. The causes of both blazes are under investigation, Brown said.
