Gensia Sicor Inc.: The Irvine pharmaceutical company posted a second-quarter net loss of $2.5 million, or 3 cents a share, compared with a 1997 second-quarter net loss of $10.4 million, or 14 cents a share. Revenue increased 17% to $48 million from $41.2 million. The net loss for the six months was $7.4 million, or 9 cents a share, compared with a net loss of $50.6 million, or 74 cents a share, for the same period last year. The year-earlier figure included a $29.2 million write-off of in-process research and development associated with the acquisition of Rakepoll Holding and its subsidiaries. Revenue was up 44% to $91.6 million from $63.6 million.
