Suspects at Large in Taco Bell Shooting
Police are looking for suspects in a late-night shooting at a fast-food restaurant that left one Port Hueneme man hospitalized.
Police say a group of people confronted 22-year-old Jesus Ayala in a Taco Bell near the intersection of Ventura and Pleasant Valley roads Monday.
Police Lt. Fernando Estrella said Ayala was shot in the abdomen. He was released from Ventura County Medical Center Tuesday night.
Estrella said police are investigating whether the shooting was gang-related.
About a dozen people were in the restaurant when the shooting occurred. Police detained five suspects for questioning overnight but released them Tuesday.
Anyone with information can call Sgt. Jerry Beck at 986-6534.
