ABC Seeks Scripts From Latino Writers

ABC and the Writers Guild of America, West are looking for freelance Latino writers to submit scripts for an existing ABC or Disney television series as part of its 1998-99 access program.

Initiated in 1995, the program is designed to increase employment of Latino writers on prime-time network television shows. Scripts for either a half-hour comedy or one-hour drama will be evaluated by the Story Analysts Guild.

The competition is open to any Latino writer who has not previously been selected by ABC through the project or employed as a writer by the network or sold or optioned a script to a television production company. Submissions will be limited to the first 100 scripts received by the Writers Guild between Aug. 31 and Sept. 18. Information: (323) 782-4648.
